Wildlife Guide

Based in Southern Vietnam

Phú Quý

Based in Tràm Chim in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, Phú Quý is an experienced birding guide, passionate naturalist and one of Next Continent’s leading local experts in Southern Vietnam. With a particular fascination for waterbirds and shorebirds, Quý has developed an excellent knowledge of the region’s wetlands, diverse birdlife and natural habitats. He regularly leads many of our specialist multi-day birding tours across Southern Vietnam, sharing his expertise with birders and wildlife enthusiasts from around the world.

Beyond guiding, Quý is actively involved in bird conservation and field research. He is a member of the East Asian–Australasian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP) Youth Task Force and conducts seasonal bird surveys for WWF-Vietnam in Tràm Chim National Park, covering both the dry and rainy seasons. This work has given him valuable insight into the region’s bird populations, seasonal changes and the conservation challenges facing Vietnam’s increasingly threatened wetland ecosystems.

A dedicated and enthusiastic naturalist, Quý particularly enjoys sharing his knowledge of bird identification, behaviour, habitats and vocalisations with guests. Whether exploring the wetlands of the Mekong Delta or searching for elusive species on extended birding expeditions, he brings patience, local expertise and a genuine enthusiasm for the natural world to every experience. His commitment to bird conservation and passion for connecting people with nature make him a highly valued member of the Next Continent guiding team.
