Based in Ha Noi, Nga Nguyễn (Poppy) is an adventurous naturalist, experienced tour leader and passionate explorer of Vietnam’s wild places. With a degree in Tourism Management and several years of professional guiding experience across Northern Vietnam, Nga combines excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of local culture with a genuine enthusiasm for wildlife (particularly birds!), reptiles, amphibians and insects.

An avid hiker, endurance runner and outdoor enthusiast, Nga is happiest exploring remote forests, mountain trails and challenging terrain. Her adventurous spirit has taken her across every province of Vietnam, including an extraordinary four-and-a-half-month solo motorbike expedition. Known for her incredible stamina, determination and willingness to go the extra mile, she thrives on long days in the field and demanding wildlife adventures, always eager to explore a little further and discover something new.

At Next Continent, Nga leads many of our shorter wildlife tours and specialist birding experiences around Hà Nội and Northern Vietnam, as well as our specialist trips to Vân Hồ in search of the Northern White-cheeked Gibbon. She also helps lead our Hà Nội Birding Walks, sharing her enthusiasm for wildlife with the local community. Fluent in English, hardworking and dedicated, Nga is known for her warm personality, strong communication skills and genuine care for her guests. Whether guiding experienced naturalists or introducing newcomers to Vietnam’s wildlife, she brings energy, professionalism and enthusiasm to every experience.
