Summary

Take an inspiring cultural trip around Hue with our private full-day tour, guided by one of our top local guides. The tour starts with a handy hotel pick-up within Hue. For those who are based in Da Nang or Hoi An, transfers can be organised on request with an earlier departure and a beautiful drive over the Hai Van Pass.

Your adventure begins at the heart of the former imperial capital with an educational visit to the Imperial City (The Citadel), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the dramatic Ngo Mon Gate and wander over the historic grounds, including the Hien Lam Pavilion, Mieu Temple Complex, and the Nine Dynastic Urns. Move on through the Dien Tho Palace and Forbidden Purple City, finishing up at the serene Ngu Uyen Garden.

From here, you’ll head to the banks of the Perfume River for a short, scenic boat ride to Thien Mu Pagoda, one of Vietnam’s oldest and most iconic temples. Overlooking the river, the pagoda holds deep spiritual and historical significance.

Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing lunch at a traditional garden house restaurant, where you’ll sample authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a peaceful setting.

In the afternoon, take a drive to two of Hue’s most imposing royal tombs. Begin with the Khai Dinh Mausoleum, famous for its elaborate fusion of Eastern and Western architecture. Follow that with the Minh Mang Mausoleum, a tranquil complex of temples, courtyards, and gardens situated in a serene wooded environment.

As the tour concludes, you’ll be returned to your accommodation around 4:30 PM in Hue. Guests returning to Da Nang or Hoi An will travel back via the Hai Van Tunnel, arriving in the early evening (approx. 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM).

This tour offers a well-paced and immersive introduction to Hue’s imperial heritage, spiritual landmarks, and cultural treasures, all in one unforgettable day.

Hue has a tropical climate with distinct seasonal changes. Spring (March to May) brings warmer and more comfortable weather, with temperatures between 22–30°C and lower humidity. Summer (June to August) is hot and humid, with temperatures often reaching 35°C or higher, along with occasional afternoon showers.
