Summary:

Our Explore Cat Tien: Wildlife & Nature Walks offer an easy-paced, immersive introduction to the extraordinary biodiversity of Vietnam’s most iconic national park. Led by your own private wildlife and natural history guide, these 3–4 hour walks are designed to introduce you to the park’s diverse habitats and extraordinary wildlife at a relaxed pace that suits all fitness levels and interests.

Departing at your choice of time (typically either at 7:00 AM or 2:30 PM) each walk follows one of several handpicked trails through evergreen forest, bamboo groves, riverbanks and wetland habitats. Whether on a loop or out-and-back route, the terrain is flat, shaded, and well suited for families, photographers, birders, and curious travellers of all ages. Shorter routes are available for families with young children, while full-day custom options can also be arranged on request.

Wildlife highlights vary with the seasons, but sightings may include Southern Yellow-cheeked Gibbon, Long-tailed and Northern Pig-tailed Macaque, Sambar Deer, and Clouded Monitor. Birdlife is particularly rich, with possibilities for Germain’s Peacock-Pheasant, Oriental Pied Hornbill, Bar-bellied Pitta, Black-and-red Broadbill, Greater Racket-tailed Drongo, Ashy Drongo, Red-breasted Parakeet, and many more. Reptiles, butterflies, dragonflies, orchids, and even ancient trees also add to the diversity of the experience.

Throughout the walk, your guide will tailor stops to your interests, pointing out everything from rare birds and colourful insects to forest ecology and seasonal highlights. Binoculars are included, and photography enthusiasts are very well catered for.

This is a perfect option for day-trippers or travellers with limited time who still want a rich, professional, and flexible experience of the park. Whether you’re focused on wildlife, photography, or simply enjoying the serenity of the forest, this walk offers a meaningful way to connect with the natural world of Cat Tien.

This is a relaxed, low-intensity walking tour on flat, well-maintained forest trails. We move at a gentle pace with frequent stops for wildlife spotting, photography, and natural history interpretation. Suitable for all ages and most fitness levels, participants just need to be comfortable walking a few kilometres at an easy pace

All of our wildlife walks are private and can be tailored for individuals, couples, families, or small groups. We recommend an ideal group size of 1–6 participants for the best experience, but are happy to accommodate larger groups on request. For groups of more than 8, we suggest splitting into two sub-groups with separate guides and varied trails to reduce crowding and maximise wildlife encounters. Solo travellers are very welcome, and families with young children are encouraged to get in touch so we can recommend the most suitable trails and itinerary. Please note that while most trails are easy and flat, they are not typically suitable for strollers, especially during the wet season.

Although one of our shorter tours, this experience offers some of the best wildlife photography opportunities of any of our trips, due to the regular encounters with main key targets. For wildlife photographers seeking serious shots, we recommend bringing a telephoto lens of at least 400mm (600mm is ideal), along with a sturdy but lightweight tripod. If you’re unsure what gear to bring or would like tailored advice based on your equipment and shooting style, our expert team is always happy to help you prepare for the best possible photographic experience.

Wildlife
The Vernal Hanging Parrot is a striking bright-green species, often spotted hanging upside down as it feeds in the treetops. A regular sight on our guided walks
