As part of the Da Nang Beach Tourism Season Opening Program, Next Continent was delighted to be the official partner of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula & Da Nang Tourist Beaches to organise the walking event “Bước chân xanh – Son Tra Walking Day 2026”. The event aimed to strengthen community spirit while raising awareness of biodiversity conservation, wildlife protection, and the message of “Son Tra – The Green Home”.
Held on the morning of May 2, 2026, at Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang, the event attracted over 300 participants, including local residents, friends and international visitors. The energetic atmosphere encouraged healthy living, community connection, and greater awareness of environmental protection and sustainable tourism in Da Nang.
Before beginning the walk, participants joined a guided warm-up session ahead of the 5-kilometre route, which started at the Helipad, continued to Ban Co Peak, and returned to the Helipad.
Throughout the journey, Next Continent organised a series of mini games focused on environmental protection, wildlife conservation, and biodiversity awareness on Son Tra Peninsula. Winning teams received unique prizes in the form of traditional monkey figurines from Thanh Ha Pottery Village, helping connect participants with local Vietnamese culture and heritage.
At both the starting and finishing stations, participants collected commemorative stamps featuring the Red-shanked Douc Langur, the iconic wildlife symbol of Son Tra Peninsula and one of Vietnam’s most remarkable primates. The activity helped promote awareness of the importance of protecting this endangered species and preserving the peninsula’s unique ecosystems.
Hydration stations were arranged along the route, with fresh fruit and pastries provided at Ban Co Peak to support the participants during the event.
Importantly, the event also promoted practical sustainable tourism initiatives. Participants were encouraged to bring reusable water bottles, avoid littering, and reduce the use of single-use plastics. These simple but meaningful actions reinforced the message of responsible and eco-friendly tourism in Da Nang.
The program concluded with awards presented to the most enthusiastic and creative groups, including two Inspiration Awards, the Most Impressive Team Name Award, and the Outstanding Team Uniform Award.
“Bước chân xanh – Son Tra Walking Day 2026” served as a special community event, with a distinct call to protect nature, conserve wildlife, and support sustainable tourism development on Son Tra Peninsula and throughout Vietnam.
Join Next Continent on more green journeys ahead!
