I was born in Cambodia and stayed there for the first few years of my life, then raised in Vietnam, surrounded by the rich culture and warm-hearted people of the Mekong Delta region. Growing up in different environments shaped my worldview and sparked my curiosity about different cultures. Moreover, I hold a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, which further broadened my understanding of the world and encouraged me to seek new horizons. So, in a way, I’m a little bit of everything, with a passion for learning and exploring.

What drew you to join Next Continent?
I believe humans are a part of nature, just like plants and animals, and we must be accountable for our relationship with the Earth and its inhabitants. This is why I was drawn to Next Continent, as we organize wildlife tours while always respecting their habitats and space.

What’s your role here, and what are you most excited about doing?
I’m an Administrative Support Officer, where I handle client bookings, tour coordination and manage all logistics. What excites me most is ensuring every tour runs smoothly, creating the best possible experience for our guests. I also look forward to maintaining and developing strong relationships with our stakeholders.

If you could choose one Next Continent tour to go on, which why would it be and why?
That’s a tough choice! If I had to pick, I’d go with the Wild Vietnam: Rare Primates & Mammals 2-Week Expedition. It offers a unique chance to explore Vietnam from south to north, focusing on mammals, and also features a high variety of birds, reptiles, and stunning landscapes. Plus, it includes insights into local culture and conservation efforts. It’s the full package: nature, wildlife, culture, and adventure all in one!

What are you most looking forward to learning in your new role?
I’m most excited to learn the little details my mentors focus on, which are actually huge to me. Whether it’s customizing an email or planning a tour that’s thoughtful and personal to a client’s needs, I look forward to understanding how these small touches make a big impact. I’m also eager to see how seriously they approach ethical practices, both for the animals and the staff.

Any fun fact about yourself that people might be surprised to learn?
One fun fact about me is that I can twist my tongue 180 degrees! I’m also neurodivergent, and according to my friends, I sometimes sleep with my eyes open!

What’s one thing you’d like guests and partners to know about you?
To be honest, there may be times when I don’t have all the answers right away. But I want you to know that I’ll always go above and beyond to find the information you need and make sure you get the answers you’re looking for!

Welcome to Khánh Mai, who has just joined our team as our Administrative Support Officer.
