While some parks, like Cát Tiên, require an overnight stay, there are plenty of exciting birding spots just a short drive from the city. With over 350 bird species recorded in the greater Saigon region, visitors can experience a rich diversity of exotic and endemic species.
The city also offers travellers easily accessible yet rewarding birding spots, such as Can Gio (mangroves and coastal reserves), Ma Da Nature Reserve, and the most eastern points of the Mekong Delta to name a few. Depending on the season and targeted locations, a typical day tour can target over 100 species, making a rewarding place for birding during your travels.
